What are OEM Cartridges? OEM cartridges are original cartridges manufactured by the original printer manufacturer. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
What are Compatible and Remanufactured Cartridges? Compatible cartridges are brand new cartridges, designed by a third party to replace the Original Equipment Remanufacturer (OEM) cartridges. Remanufactured cartridges, were original cartridges that have been used. A third party is involved in the remanufacturing of the cartridge. For example, most toner cartridges are disassembled and rebuilt, and in some cases meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacture's (OEM) performance specifications. Is the capacity of the compatible, remanufactured inkjet or toner cartridge the same than the OEM cartridge? Yes and in some cases the compatible or remanufactured cartridges have more ink or toner than the original cartridges. The page count or yield referred by the OEM cartridges is usually based in 5% coverage of an A4 sheet.
